3/30 Sports Review: All-Americans

March 30th 2010 04:21
The All-American teams have finally been announced. The first team featured John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Wesley Johnson, Evan Turner, and Scottie Reynolds. The second team had James Anderson, Sherron Collins, Greivis Vasquez, Jon Scheyer, and Da'Sean Butler. The third team had Greg Monroe, Cole Aldrich, Damion James, Luke Harangody, and Darington Hobson.

Finally, a free agent has been signed. The Washington Redskins signed veteran cornerback Phillip Buchanon. He will be a backup, but his speed will make him an excellent punt returner. President Barack Obama will once again throw an Opening Day first pitch. This time it will be for the Washington Nationals.

The New Jersey Nets won their 10th game of the season. They will not be the worst team in NBA history. The 1972-1973 76ers still own that record. The most surprising thing was that the Nets beat a good team, the Spurs. Richard Jefferson had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Brook Lopez led the Nets on this historic day with 22 points and 12 rebounds in the 90-84 upset. However, the Spurs were also shorthanded. Jefferson used to play for the Nets back when they were a great team.

Dirk Nowitzki's huge triple double got the Mavericks to a huge win against the struggling Nuggets 109-93. JR Smith scored 27, but Dirk had the 34 point, 10 rebound, 10 assists monster. The Utah Jazz beat the New York Knicks 103-98 in a close one. the Jazz are now the best team in the Northwest division. Al Harrington tried to stop them with 26 points and 17 rebounds. Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 26 points and 14 rebounds.

The New Orleans Hornets upset the Los Angeles Lakers last night 108-100. Although Pau Gasol was huge with 26 points and 22 rebounds, Chris Paul's stingy 15 points and 13 assists edged it all.

Hedo Turkoglu hit a big go-ahead three pointer. His 3-ball was the reason why Toronto signed him. He showed that today. It was a close game. but the Raptors took down the Charlotte Bobcats 103-101. The Raptors played with more enthusiasm throughout the game. Superstar Chris Bosh had 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Raymond Felton had 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Sid the Kid and Pau Gasol made their cases to be the MDA. However, a triple double that includes 10 assists from a power forward is to awesome. Yeah Dirk, this one is for you.
