Star left guard for the New England Patriots Logan Mankins could be paid the most money ever by a guard in the NFL. The Pats really want to give one of Brady's coveted protectors an extension.
Mike Woodson was fired by the Atlanta Hawks. As far as replacements go, they are looking at Mavericks' Assistant Coach Dwane Casey. Casey has already been interviewed by the New Orleans Hornets. Personally, I would take the Hawks in a heartbeat. Casey has a good relationship dating back to Seattle with Atlanta's GM Rick Sund. The Hawks know they can't get Wade, Dwayne so they are going with Casey, Dwane.
Donnie Walsh, President of the Knicks, has denied poor health claims. We keep hearing about Obama wanting LeBron in Chicago and such rumors. John Calipari could coach a LeBron-led team. Whether it be a package to the Bulls, or Mike Brown getting fired and Calipari replacing him while James sticks around. The latter option is the one LBJ and his fans should be hoping for. Not to mention Cal and his fans as well.
The Cincinnati Reds made an excellent gamble in signing Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman this offseason. Now they are close to signing Felix Perez, another one. Perez signed with the New York Yankees last spring and said he was 20. Sources said otherwise so the Yanks terminated the deal and the league suspended him for a year. Now he gets a second chance.
A.J. Pierzynski could be traded to the Texas Rangers because Texas have a shortage of talent at catcher. A.J. is a solid player that people tend to overlook. He isn't great, but not many catchers are.
22 year old superstar Capitals' center Nicklas Backstrom had a whopping 101 points last season. He will soon get a giant extension and will become extremely rich.
