5/27 Ask Up: Where's Roy?

May 27th 2010 23:00
1. Who is the better shortstop, Troy Tulowitzki or Hanley Ramirez?

I might get in a lot of hot water for this one, but I think it is Tulo. I really don't like Hanley's ego, and his lazy defense. I also think that Troy is just as fast, just as powerful, and Tulo strikes out less. Tulowitzki is such an extra base hit monster. I like Hanley and he is the unquestionable number two, but I really like Tulo and I think he just barely edges out Ramirez.

2. Will Colt McCoy end out better than Tim Tebow?

Yes. But in their rookie years, I think Tebow will be better because he fits the system more. Overall, I think McCoy's only concern heading into the draft was that shoulder injury. Look, he is young and young people recover from this stuff. I think Colt has the skills to make passes any day and to become a good player. I think he will turn out to be an under the radar type of Chad Henne. I think Tebow is hard working, and will do good in the NFL. Doing good doesn't mean superstar like, because some players are meant to be role players. Trust me, every champion team needs to have role players.

3. Should I take anything out of Adrian Beltre's two dingers?

No. Adrian Beltre is a guy I like defensively, but his offense is not that good. I think he is a borderline top 10 third baseman at best offensively. I also think his communication with teammates is really sagging. I am vividly remembering his stupid play that badly injured Jacoby Ellsbury.

4. Can the Magic mount a historic comeback?

Yes, I think they will. I mean, the next two games will be at home. The Celtics look like they are slipping. In Game 6, Perkins is suspended and Davis has a concussion. That gets rid of the two guys that have harassed Dwight Howard.

You also have to see that Howard and Jameer Nelson were playing amazing. They just needed one guy to step up. Vince Carter is doing terrible, and Rashard Lewis has mix-match ability; so naturally they counted on Lewis. He had a big game, and the whole thing worked. Now that Lewis is somewhat on track, I think 3-0 to 4-3 is no longer a Hollywood dream.

5. What happened to Roy Williams?

Williams does not suck. The situation in Dallas is a perfect example of why you do not throw a bunch of star receivers at one team. What happens is they all whine for catches, but they only get a certain amount. That's why you get a Witten, an Austin, a Bryant, a Barber, a Felix, and a Romo. You then build your offensive line and defense. That's what championship teams do. Now my opinion places the Cowboys as Super Bowl favorites. What about you?
