6/1 Sports Musings: Panthers and Vikings

June 1st 2010 14:14
I read an article on Yahoo! Sports regarding team running back rankings. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off. The rankings looked alright, but I wasn't a fan of the top 3.

His top three were: 1.Vikings 2. Titans 3. Panthers. Now, my thinking is, how are the Titans ahead of the Panthers? Sure Johnson is great, but Tennessee has no good backup. Carolina had the only duo in history to rush for over 1,100 yards each. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart should vault them into first. Now, the Vikings are number two because Gerhart compliments AP nicely. Read more thoughts on Gerhart here from O.J. Lewis: Really Long Link

I also have no idea why Cedric Benson and the Bengals were ranked over Felix, Marion, and Choice of the Cowboys. Sadly enough, Dallas ranked 9th. I also think that the Ravens deserve to be in the top three so my rankings are 1. Panthers 2. Ravens 3. Vikings 4. Titans. Feel free to comment and put your rankings in.

Randy Moss wants a new agent. Moss wants commercials and more marketing opportunities. As Antonio Freeman said on Football Today, "Get that money".

Disgruntled wide receiver Patrick Crayton could go to the Miami Dolphins and play with former coach Bill Parcells- the team's GM. He would compliment Brandon Marshall nicely, and really help out Davone Bess. After the Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant, they shopped around Crayton. He says that the Boys don't want him on their team anymore. He's right. Too many good receivers causes fights on who should get the ball thrown to them more.

A few teams are interested in signing linebacker Keith Bulluck. Former defensive coordinator of the Titans, Jim Schwartz, is now the coach of the Lions. Schwartz was with the Titans as a linebacker coach when Bulluck was drafted. The Lions already brought in former Titan defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch. This would be a great move.

Bulluck would combine forces with former teammate. Those two veteran leaders would instill something to this defense. Keith Bulluck needs to fully recover from his ACL surgery before he can sign.

Last year, the star linebacker recorded 108 tackles. That is all for me today. I am still trying to squeeze off these posts.
