Birthdays

1984- Shawne Merriman was born. The disgruntled, star linebacker of the San Diego Chargers recently fired his agent because he wanted a charge in order to longer be a Charger. The deal never happened, it could only happen before the draft. In 2006, his 17 sacks led the league, was tied for the best year of his career with 2007. It also won him his only 1st team All-Pro selection. He made it to the second team in 2007 after recording 12.5 sacks. He had 10 sacks in his rookie year in 2005, en route to winning 2005 Rookie of the Year. He is a three time pro bowler as well from 05-07.

1976- Tarik Glenn was born. He was a three time pro bowler from 04-06. Glenn is ranked among the likes of Hall of Famers like Ron Mix, Rayfield Wright, and Mike McCormack. Jeff Saturday and Tarik Glenn always kept Peyton Manning protected.

1978- Brian Urlacher was born. He is known as one of the best linebackers of his time and one of the top players and leaders in Bears' history. Urlacher is already the 164th best player of All Time. He was a pro bowler from 2000-2002 and in 2005 and 2006. He made the first team All-Pro in 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2006. He was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2000, and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. He caught five picks in 2007, recorded at least 100 tackles in a season 7 times, and had his best year in 2001. Hall of Famers like Willie Lanier, Andre Tippett, and one of the greatest players of All Time in Dick Butkus can be compared to him.
