Comparing Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

One of the biggest Soap Operas in the NFL this offseason was the retirement and then unretirement of Brett Favre, and then his subsequent trade to the New York Jets. Many could not see how the Packers could part with a legend under such circumstances. Others felt that Favre should have stayed retired, and that it was Aaron Rodgers time and that Favre should take his Hall of Fame Credentials and ride into the sunset. Well, what do the numbers say? They say that this whole melodrama was good for both players and both teams. Here are their stats, which are remarkably similar. Aaron Rodgers- 205 completions in 318 attempts, 2351 yards, 15 TDs, 6 INTs, and a 94.5 passer rating. Brett Favre- 220 completions in 315 attempts, 2237 yards, 18 TDs, 12 INTs, and a 93.0 passer rating. The New York Jets are 7-3 and in 1st place in the AFC East, and the Packers are 5-5 and tied for 1st place in the NFC North Division. In the beginning, this whole episode was unfortunate for both players and both teams; but everybody involved has worked to make the best of the situation, and it appears to be working. Hopefully, Favre will make up with the Packers at some point after he retires so he can receive the recognition that he deserves. I believe he will, because time has a way of healing old wounds. It would be improbable, but it would be the excellent conclusion of this Novella if both teams met in the Super Bowl. That would be a improbable, but you never know in the crazy world of the NFL.
