The Cleveland Browns dodged a bullet when Buffalo Place Kicker Rian Lindell missed a 47 yard field goal with 43 seconds left in the game to preserve their victory. Only a minute earlier, Phil Dawson had given the Browns the lead with a 56 yard field goal. The Browns avoided the infamous distinction of being the first team in league history to lose 3 games in a row after leading in the game by 13 points. The Browns scored the 1st thirteen points of the game on two Dawson field goals and a touchdown. The Bills answered with ten straight of their own to make the score 13-10 at halftime. The teams exchanged field goals in the 3rd Quarter to make the score 16-13 going into the 4th Quarter. Jerome Harrison opened the quarter with a 72 yard touchdown run, but the Bills answered with a 98 yard kickoff return on the ensuing kickoff by Leodis McKelvin to make the score 26-20. The Bills scored a touchdown to take the lead 27-20. Brady Quinn drove the Browns down the field , and barely got the ball on the outer edge of Phil Dawson range, but Dawson nailed it. Unfortunately for the Bills, Rian Lindell pulled his best Scott Norwood impression and kicked the ball wide right..
