Second year Point Guard Rajon Rondo scored a career high twenty six points as the Boston Celtics won for the 18th straight time to take their record to 26-2. They have tied the NBA record for the most victories by a team with two losses, and they will have their opportunity to break the record Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. They also have a chance to break a team record for most consecutive victories. They are now tied with the 1981-82 Celtics, who also won eighteen in a row.The Celtics are making it look easy. It appears the only thing they need to work on is their free throw shooting, because they only shot 58.3 %. However, their shooting from the field was an incredible 65.8 %. Seven of the 12 Celtic players were in double figures, and one of those, Sam Cassel, did not play. Kendrick Perkins led the Celtics in rebounds with twelve. Only seven of the twelve Knicks played. Quentin Richardson led the Knicks with twenty nine points. David Lee led the Knicks with eight rebounds. The Celtics, of course, have the best record in the NBA, and consequently, they are the number one team in the Atlantic Division. The Knicks are 14.5 games behind the Celtics in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, and they are not seeded for the playoffs.
