Chess Boxing

Question: What do you get when you cross two sports that are complete opposites?
Answer: A Random Sport of the day!
Heres a sport that will blow your mind. Ever considered crossing boxing with chess? Until today i personally hadn't, but these people have!
Chess Boxing is a hybrid sport which hilariously combines the sports of Boxing and Chess in alternate rounds. Competitors play four-minute rounds of chess followed by two-minute rounds of boxing, with a one-minute break between rounds to change attire. A match consists of up to eleven rounds, and a player may win by Knockout, Checkmate, a judges decision or if their opponents twelve minutes of chess time elapses.
Now it might just be me, but i find this sport is slightly confusing. On the one hand you have the chess side which requires brain power and logic, and then in the next round the competitors punch each other in the head. All that being said, here at Random Sport of the day we embrace all sports. My favourite fact about Chess Boxing is that it is a sport that was not envisioned by person with passion or talent for either of the two sports, but rather by a cartoonist. God Bless the cartoonists of this world!
And once again this is a sport so popular that it has a world championship competition. This year it will be held in Berlin and will see World Champion Frank Stoldt defends his title against 19 year-old Russian Nikolay Sazhin. All of this action will be happening on July 5th, so if you are in the area go check it out! Im just hoping it will be broadcast on ESPN or something!
So remember: Fighting is done in the ring and wars are waged on the board
