Colts defeat Jaguars 31-24
David Garrard threw an interception with 4:58 remaining in the game that Kelwan Ratliff returned thirty five yards for the a touchdown that gave the Colts the lead that they would not relinquish. David Garrard led the Jaguars down to the Colt seven yard line, but Dwight Freeney sacked Garrard with twelve seconds remaining. The Jaguars had no timeouts, however, and they could not reset in time to get off another play. Peyton Manning went 29/34 for 364 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. The win guaranteed the Colts a playoff spot, and they have now won eight in a row after being three and four after seven games. The Jaguars jumped to a 14-0 lead on a twenty eight yard pass from Garrard to Dennis Northcut and then a two yard run by Garrard. The Colts got on the board with 8:46 remaining in the half on a 41 yard pass from Peyton Manning to Reggie Wayne. Josh Scobee hit a 44 yard field goal with six seconds remaining to make the score 17-7 at halftime. Dominique Rhodes caught a ten yard touchdown pass from Peyton Manning to make the score 17-14 in the third quarter. Montell Owens capped off a 14 play 76 yard drive with a two yard touchdown run to make the score 24-14. The Colts would score the final 17 points, however. Manning hit Dallas Clark with a one yard touchdown pass, and Adam Vinatieri kicked a forty five yard field goal with 6:34 remaining to tie the score. On the Jaguars next drive, Garrard threw the interception that Ratliff returned for the touchdown.
