Cowboys dominate Seahawks 34-9

November 28th 2008 03:53
Tony Romo was 22/34 for 331 yards, 3 touchdowns, and one 1 INT in leading the Dallas Cowboys to a convincing 34-9 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Jason Witten caught 9 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown to get back to form after having two substandard games. Terrell Owens had another solid game, catching 5 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Rookie tight end Martellus Bennett caught the other touchdown pass from Romo, which was on a 16 yard pass in the first quarter to give the Cowboys a 7-0 lead. The offense gained a total of 447 yards. Tashard Choice was surprisingly the leading rusher with 57 yards on 11 carries. Marion Barber, the usual workhorse for Dallas, gained 32 yards on 10 carries, but he left the game with what was termed an injured "pinkie toe." The Seattle Offense put up a respectable 332 yards on offense, but the Cowboy's defense stiffened in the Red Zone, limiting the Seahawks to three field goals. The Cowboys defense also picked up two turnovers, a fumble by ex-Cowboy running back Julius Jones was recovered by Anthony Henry, and cornerback Terence Newman intercepted Matt Hasselbeck near the end zone to prevent a touchdown. The defense also had 7 sacks, three by Demarcus Ware, two by Brady James, and one apiece by Tank Johnson and Gregg Ellis. Of some concern for the Cowboys was the fact that two of their key players, Marion Barber and Demarcus Ware left the game with injuries, In addition to Barber's toe, Demarcus Ware "tweaked" his knee, but it did not appear to be too serious. Ware, himself, did not seem to be too concerned in his post-game interview.
