Sportgreat's Defensive Player of the Week-Ed Reed.
The Washington Redskins are on their first drive of the game, and Jason Campbell has just completed a twelve yard pass to Chris Cooley. It is now first and ten, and the Redskins are going deep over the middle for Santanna Moss, but Jason Campbell is pressured and hit as he throws the ball. The ball is headed harmlessly to the ground, but Ed Reed makes a play on the ball and makes a shoestring interception. The Ravens only take five plays to cover sixty yards and put the ball in the endzone for a 7-0 lead. It is still the first quarter, and the Ravens are still ahead 7-0. They are on their own 11 yard line, and Jason Cambell hands the ball off to Clinton Portis, who bursts up the middle for an 11 yard gain, but hold on, as Portis is headed for the turf, Jason Reed strips Portis of the ball. Reed runs over, picks up the ball, and rambles into the endzone for a touchdown. Score: Ravens-14 and Skins-0.
We are now at the two minute warning, and the Redskins are in desperate need of a score. Jason Campbell goes deep over the middle, and the ball is intercepted by, you guessed it, Ed Reed. Ed Reed had two interceptions, one forced fumble, one recovered fumble, which he returned for a touchdown, and he is Sportgreats Defensive player of the week.
