Giants dominate the Redskins to move to 11-

Nothing seems to be able to derail the Giants on their way to repeating as Super Bowl Champs. But many circumstances and people have tried. The latest person to try was their own Plaxico Burress, who shot himself in the thigh and will be out for the immediate future, either due to his injury or because Commissioner Goodell will suspend him. The Giants did not seem the least bit distracted, but then they are used to distractions caused by Burress. The Redskins also tried, but they failed miserably, losing to the Giants 23-7. The Redskins did a respectable job defensing the Giants number one ranked rushing offense, holding them to 108 yards on 35 carries for only a 3.1 yard per carry average. But the Giants are not one dimensional. Eli Manning completed 21/34 of his passes for 305 yards, 1 INT, and a touchdown. Domenik Hixon, who was filling in for Burress, caught 5 passes for 71 yards. Amani Toomer and Derrick Ward also caught five passes apiece, with Toomer also hauling in a touchdown pass. The Redskins, who were trying to honor the memory of their fallen comrade Sean Taylor, who was murdered in his home a year ago, could not get it done. Jason Campbell was 23/38 for 232 yards and 1 INT. Chris Cooley led the Redskins in receptions, catching 6 passes for 71 yards. League leading rusher going into the game, Clinton Portis, was shut down, gaining only 22 yards on 11 carries.
