QB 49ers Alex Smith C: Did anybody forget that Alex is just 26? He isn't the special player he was supposed to be, nor will he every be that. However, if he can put it together this year; he will prove that a team can win games with Smith under center.
QB Chargers Philip Rivers A: Elite quarterbacks mean everything in this game, especially when they are carrying a team on their backs. I used to criticize Rivers for being too mouthy, but now he has blossomed into a great leader. Rivers is a machine.
TE Brandon Pettigrew Lions D plus: He is an overrated player. Now that's tough to say for a tight end, but not when people consistently believe that he is good. This year has looked decent for him, but I need to see a full season of good work out of him to even give him a thought. The plus is for his age and upside.
TE Donald Lee Packers F: Uh, he's gone. Lee used to be a mediocre tight end, but now he is just horrible. The only thing left is some blocking. After this year, he's an F minus for sure.
RB Maurice Jones-Drew Jaguars A minus: Something's wrong with his health, but he is still a monster. However, I don't give A's easily so he worked hard to earn this grade.
RB Titans Chris Johnson A: He is a monster, but running backs don't get A pluses. Not even Adrian Peterson. Did you know that CJ and MJD were both born in 1985? That's a little bit of trivia for those who don't know it. Johnson is the most explosive player in the league, but I only give A pluses to handful of players. That kind of a grade is given to legends.
