Listen Up Utah, 2010 Free Agency, and Robin Roberts

May 9th 2010 14:35
Yeah, that's right Jazz fans. Do you remember Derek Fisher? If you say no, then it is pretty much obvious your lying. He used to play for you guys back in 2007, when you made the Western Conference Finals. Ever since he went to LA, you guys have hated him.

Fisher didn't do this to mess you guys up. He is one of the most professional people and class acts in sports. Derek Fisher moved to Los Angeles and signed with the Lakers for his then 11-month year old daughter who was suffering from a deadly, cancerous tumor in her left eye.

He liked the treatment in Los Angeles. Jazz fans have always mocked him and booed him. If you go to Energy Solutions, you will always hear a "Fisher Sucks" called out somewhere.

There was a photo earlier this year of somebody covering their left eye in a Jazz-Lakers game in Utah while Fisher was taking a free throw. The covering of the left eye was to mock his daughter that nearly died.

Well yesterday, Derek Fisher shoved it in Utah's face. The fans now have a 3-0 hole that no team in history has ever gone out of. The Lakers won 111-110 on a 28.6 go ahead three pointer. Sweep em up LA. Beat Utah!

I've got a message for you LeBron James and Amare Stoudamire. You guys would be stupid to leave your respective teams. First I will make the case for LBJ, and then for STAT.

Think about it this way LeBron, this year your Cavaliers were the best or second best team in basketball. Regardless, you were the best in the East and are currently leading against the Boston Celtics. Why would you leave a great situation like that? The Lakers and Magic are never going to sign you, so the best place is Cleveland. If it's about the money, you already have enough money and the Cavs can offer you more money than more than half the teams out there due to benefits for players sticking to their former teams.

Hey Stoudamire. Your option has a whopping 17.7 million dollars left on it. Why would you drop it? The Suns are the fourth best team in the NBA. You have everything you need with a great point guard like Nash and a good coach like Gentry. Your already rich. Why would you pass up on that money? Even if you make more than that as a free agent, you'll be playing from a bottom-feeder like the Knicks or Nets. Have fun trying to win a title or MVP!

I want to get into one last basketball rumor before closing it off. Jeff Van Gundy is getting a ton of offers. The most recent one was from the Chicago Bulls. I would never, ever take a job that involves working with John Paxson. Van Gundy should pass for his own good.

I want to tip my cap off to Jamie Moyer for becoming the oldest player in history to throw a shutout. He threw a two-hitter in fact. 47 is one up on 46. That was the previous record set by Phil Niekro, the great knuckleballer.

Alright, Sterling Castro is the twenty year old phenom at shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. He is 27 years younger than that Phillies' hurler above. He hit a homer in his first at-bat in the majors, while tallying up the most RBIs in history by a player in his debut with 6 steaks. I got that one from my friend at www.sportramble.com

Speaking of Phillies' hurlers, the great Robin Roberts passed away at the age of 83. He was one of the best players of all time. He was the symbol of love of the game, knowledge of the game, being a workhose, and longevity. The day that he died, Roy Halladay took the mound and pitched a gem for the Phillies. Halladay embodies the same workhose type that Roberts exhibited. This post is for you Robin.
