NFL Linebacker Ranking

July 23rd 2010 13:59
1-T. Ray Lewis (ILB) – Ray Lewis is still the best, despite his age.

1-T. Patrick Willis (ILB) – The best player on defense physically.

3-T. DeMarcus Ware (OLB) – Best rusher from the LB position today, doesn't
cover as well as he could though.

3-T. London Fletcher (MLB) – If anybody’s underrated in sports, it’s this guy.

5. Bart Scott (ILB) – Should help the Jets get to the Super Bowl this year.

6. Lofa Tatupu (MLB) – Very good, just plays on a bad team.

7-T. David Harris (ILB) – He needs a new contract, now.

7-T. Jon Beason (MLB) – Heart of the Panther’s defense.

9. DeMeco Ryans (MLB) – The heart of the Texans, don’t understand why they were trying to trade him.

10. Lance Briggs (OLB) – The best complete OLB.

11. Jerod Mayo (ILB) – The cornerstone LB of the Patriots.

12. Jonathan Vilma (MLB) – Super Bowl champion, was one of the few people doing something on defense.

13. Terrell Suggs (OLB) – One of the best OLBs in the NFL, paid like one too.

14. Shaun Phillips (OLB) – Now that Cromartie and Jamal Williams are gone, he’ll have to step up even more now.

15. Elvis Dumervil (OLB) – Basically like a second DE from the LB spot.

16. Rolando McClain (MLB) – Probably the top 3 most pro-ready players of this draft, should make an immediate impact for the Raiders.

17. James Harrison (OLB) – All he is is the blitz. Way overrated in my opinion.

18. Bryan Urlacher (MLB) – Getting old and injuries are starting to get him now. He’s still good, just not great any more.

19. Joey Porter (OLB) – This guy plays like he’s still 28 years old.

20. Brian Cushing (OLB) – Despite eligibly using illegal substances, even though the team knew about it, he is the undisputed RDPOY, and still a heck of a player.

Comment if you think I missed something.

Ray Lewis
Despite his age, still on top.

ITS PRETTY CLEAR YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH THE RAVENS

Yeah, O.J. does. But not me. I told him that Ray Lewis was in no way the best linebacker. I also strongly criticized him for putting Bart Scott in the top 5. That literally made no sense. By the way, I'm the other writer for the website. I might put out my own rankings. Thanks for dropping by r.

However, O.J. is a great writer and I do respect his opinion.

Ok, first of all, I'm biased? There's only two players from the Ravens, and one who used to play for them. There are three current players with the Jets, and one former Jet. There are two Texans, and there are two Bears, so I don't see how I'm biased towards the Ravens. If I was actually being biased, I would've put Adalius Thomas in the top 15, Sergio Kindle in the top 15, Jerret Johnson in the top 10, Suggs in the top 8, and Ray Lewis definately for no. 1 untied. And this is a LINEBACKERS list, not a blitzer from the LB position list, so I judged on who's the best at EVERYTHING a LB does, and guess what, Ray Lewis does, but Patrick Willis does it alone so that's why he's tied for 1st. Just because Ray Lewis is old doesn't mean he's not one of the best anymore, so are you telling me Peyton Manning's not one of the best? Tom Brady's not? Brett Favre wasn't one of the best last year and possibly this year too? So before you come here anonymous and post dumb things like that, first of all, have your facts straight, second of all, explain how I am, and third, don't come anonymous, obviously, if you know about this site, you probably have an Orble account, so posting it anonymous makes me think you're either a punk or don't even know what you're talking about, so go home kid.

Yeah, I love Lofton personally. Incredible player that should have been on this list. I have him on my rankings list. But remember, tackles and other counting numbers aren't everything.
Really Long Link

I remember when I pulled the Lofton rookie card. That was nice because he was a guy I wanted for a long time.
