I took a nice vacation to Paris. Sorry for the delay. It's good to be back. I did not go on my computer during the vacation and my fantasy team suffered. I had two injured players on my roster and an open outfield spot. However, I still tied with the person I faced during the head-to-head league.
It looks like the Pittsburgh Steelers won't have to deal with Santonio Holmes and his assault charge. The New York Jets now have what is one of the best receiving corpses in the NFL. Super Bowl soon? Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery, and Dustin Keller will now see new number two receiver Holmes. Saint Antonio was the Super Bowl MVP in 2008 after a magnificent catch as time expired. The 26 year old caught 5 touchdowns with 1,248 yards last season. The Steelers got a measly fifth round pick in return. This move stabilizes the Jets' claim as a Super Bowl contender and hurts the Steelers' chances of making the playoffs. They won the whole thing in 2008, but missed the playoffs last year.
Here are some NFL rumors. The New York Jets' offseason spree might add veteran defensive end Jason Taylor. This move is probably more for fan support, a veteran guy, and money generated by jerseys for the team than for actual performance. Taylor is not the guy he used to be, and is a bottom-league player at this stage of his career. I state the obvious.
The Miami Dolphins are in a good position. They have the 12th pick in this year's deep draft. They are thinking of drafting Dez Bryant, Sergio Kindle, Jean Paul-Pierre, Derrick Morgan, and Dan Williams.
The Washington Redskins are thinking of signing Flozell Adams to replace retired offensive lineman Chris Samuels. Adams is terrible at this stage of his career and makes too many mistakes and penalties. However, if the Skins can't draft top lineman Russell Okung; then they must sign Adams.
