PEDs and Fireworks

May 8th 2010 15:24
Last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year recipient is suspended four games. Linebacker Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans had 134 tackles and 5 sacks last year. He has already lost his appeal against the suspension. Cushing has already violated the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances/drugs.

Now, let me say this about all that above. How is it just that Cushing gets suspended for the same amount of time as Santonio Holmes? Sure he took PEDs and that's cheating, but Holmes assaulted somebody. Holmes has also caused several infractions including that one. Either you reduce Cushing's suspension time, or increase Holmes's. Both should be suspended, but there needs to be a curve.

Josh McDaniels was under the Patriots when Tom Brady emerged as a legend. McDaniels told one of my favorite sportswriters- Woody Paige- that Tebow is the next Tom Brady. Now, there is a lot of things that are wrong about that statement. First of all, Tebow has not played a single game yet. I mean, you can't just raise the bar on a quarterback like that. He's a rookie and now the public are expecting all sorts of things. Tebow is under a lot of pressure right now.

McDaniels should not have released that to the public anyway. What should have been done was a quick statement to only the scouts and coaches in his organization. No coach should toss this situation into a quarterback's mind.

Lawrence Taylor admitted to paying $300 to have sex with a minor. He raped a runaway. Rasheed Davis lied and told Taylor that the girl was 19. It turns out, she was just 16. In all this, it seems that Davis will walk away the criminal. What Taylor did was wrong, but Rasheed Davis was the match that started the fire.

I feel really bad for Lastings Milledge. The fireworks were on, and his own team duped him. He ran the bases, with his head low like the way you should. That is until he saw fireworks. Fireworks usually denote a home run, but the man in charge of the effects was wrong. The ball was fair as it was on top of the PNC Park railing. Milledge was tagged out in the rundown between second and third. He did get a double with 2 RBIs at that. He is facing unfair criticism. The person that should be blamed is the fireworks guy.

Dallas Braden is still throwing out his crap. In the words of Mike Wilbon of the PTI, "He didn't do jack". That comment was referring to Braden talking smack a week or two after the incident where Alex Rodriguez walked on the pitcher's mound. Braden never did anything, but now he says he wants to fight A-Rod. Seriously, Dallas Braden is the one who looks like a fool right now. I bet most fans despise him. Seriously, get over it.
