Peralta and Podsednik Traded

Catching prospect Lucas May and pitching prospect Elisaul Pimentel were traded to the Kansas City Royals for Scott Podsednik. The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired an outfielder that is hitting .310 with 44 RBI, 46 runs, and 30 stolen bases. He has had a very productive year- which is surprising- and was the best player on Kansas City. Neither prospect is that great, but I still love that the Royals are rebuilding with decent guys. I like this deal for the Royals, I am not a "Pod" guy.

Jhonny Peralta is struggling this year, mainly because of an injury. However, people have overlooked that he does have 43 RBIs. The Detroit Tigers did an incredible job of acquiring him from the Cleveland Indians. The Tigers also got cash as they traded away pitching prospect Giovanni Soto. That is a very coincidental name. Hence, Cubs catcher Geovany Soto.

The Florida Marlins released Nate Robinson. They finally realized how awful he is. I can't believe why they wanted him in the first place. Anyway, I really don't get why reliever Joe Nelson was released by the Seattle Mariners. Their bullpen already stinks enough.

The Texas Rangers released reliever Geoff Geary. He had a great year in 2008 with the Houston Astros. I think the Rangers should have kept them, you always need guys that have at least that track record on them. Roy Oswalt has a choice. The Phillies and Astros have agreed on an Oswalt deal, but it is all up to the star pitcher.

34 year old Lorenzen Wright's body was found in Memphis. He was missing, and the said news has been found out about his death. Wright was a former NBA player. Only an average player, but nonetheless the news is saddening.

The Houston Rockets made a really nice deal with the Toronto Raptors. They traded horrible center David Andersen for a future second rounder and cash. Jerry Colangelo is busy ripping Bosh while he is justifying his anger by getting ripped off.

Mark Brunell used to be a very good quarterback with the Jags and Skins. Last year he won a ring as a backup to Drew Brees. This year, the 39 year old signed a two year deal with the Jets. Smart move guys, they have made a bundle of them this offseason. Brunell is a great mentor in this league. Mark Sanchez is in good hands.
