Browns QB Quinn out for season with broken finger.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that second year Quarterback Brady Quinn season is over with a broken index finger. Quinn took over for former starting quarterback Derek Anderson in Week 10. Quinn was 1-2 in his three starts, losing to the Broncos and the Texans and defeating the Buffalo Bills. Quinn was benched last week in the loss against the Texans, but Romeo Crennel said that Quinn would be the starter for the game against the Colts. The injury to Quinn appeared to be minor; but when he complained of soreness and had the finger x-rayed, a small fracture was detected. Quinn was cleared to play; but he was subsequently examined by orthopedist James Andrews, and Andrews said the break had gotten worse and could cause tendons in his fingers to be damaged. He recommended that Quinn stop all football activity for six weeks, which in effect ended his season. It seems a bit ridiculous that this injury is ending Quinn's season. It appears that the Browns are trying to save face on a quarterback change that they wish they had not made. The Browns have had a bad season this year, after they started the season with high expectations. Expect changes this off season for the Browns, either with quarterbacks Quinn or Anderson, or perhaps even with the head coach, Romeo Crennel.
