Shaq- er Celts- Surprise Again

August 5th 2010 14:46
Yeah, not every surprise is good; especially not in the NBA. What were the Celtics thinking? Now they are old. Why would you want Shaquille O'Neal. At this stage in his a career, he is a liability. Defensively, he is just too slow to compete. Seriously, he has to take a billion days off and cherry pick at either end.

I don't get why the headlines incorporate 15 time All-Star. It is a cheap contract, two years 3 million, but they should have given up just one year. Cheap is good, but two years is one year too much. It is a bad move, but it isn't a horrible move. However, what makes it so bad is that the Celtics made it. This is a move that a team that needs him badly would make, but not a team like Boston that need to go young.

Nolan Ryan actually outbid Mark Cuban as owner for the Texas Rangers. Some people like the news because Ryan played the game and was incredible at it. They appreciate the fact that the owner is a guy that really helped the franchise as a player.

However, there are those that think Cuban would be the better owner. I mean, he has a lot of money. Then there is the question as to which Texas franchise he likes more. Is it the Mavs or the Rangers? I would think the Mavericks because he seems more of a basketball fan and he is a maverick himself. Overall, I really have no care as to who got the job. The only thing that matters is that there is no uncertainty.

Commissioner Roger Goodell is the best commissioner in sports as of today. He says he wants HGH blood testing to protect the integrity of the game. That is a sound move. Brace yourselves! Somebody else is going to be found cheating. By the way, my last post was all skepticism and questions from a new perspective. You'll read that in the comments section.

Anyway, Aaron Schobel has been arguably the best Bills player in recent history. The sack master was released over uncertainty on his future in the NFL. Schobel now has the opportunity to sign with a team or retire. That was a very just move and I tip my cap off to the Bills.

“If he chooses to retire, he will do so as a Buffalo Bill,” said Bills GM Buddy Nix. “This move allows him the opportunity to play somewhere else if he so choses. And we felt that was a fair thing to do for a guy who has played hard for us the past nine seasons.”

The Texans, Cowboys, and Saints are all teams he might sign with. It is in that particular order. He wants to play around his home in Houston, Texas.
