Cowboys lose to Steelers 20-13.
December 8th 2008 04:08
Tony Romo threw an interception that Deshea Townsend returned twenty five yards for the go-ahead touchdown, as the Steelers came from ten points behind in the fourth quarter to win 20-13. The interception came on the drive after Roethlisberger had driven the Steelers down the field for a tying score on a six yard pass to Heath Miller. The Cowboys seemed to have control of the game after Nick Folk kicked a field goal to give the Cowboys a 13-3 lead. The lead, although slim, seemed like it would be enough for a victory in this defensive struggle. But the Steelers fought back. They drove the ball down to the one on their next possession, but the Cowboys made a goal line stand. The Cowboys took over, but they were only able to gain one first down and then they had to punt. Santonio Holmes returned the punt thirty five yards to the Cowboys twenty five, where the Cowboys defense again stiffened and held the Steelers to a field goal. The Steelers defense held the Cowboys on their next possession, and Roethlisberger led them down for the tying score. It looked like the game was headed for overtime, but Townsend had other ideas, when he picked off Romo for Romo's third interception of the day and returned it for the score.
