Super Bowl: Giants vs Ravens

We have gone through 10 weeks of the NFL season, so it is time for the bold to make their Super Bowl Predictions. I am going with the New York Giants in the NFC. To me that is a no-brainer. They are just simply an outstanding team, and they play with incredible fire and intensity. They lead the league in rushing, and they are fourth in total offense. The rushing game is led by a punishing offensive line, and running backs, Brandon Jacobs, Derek Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw, who are appropriately nicknamed Earth, Wind and Fire, because they can destroy an opposing team in a variety of ways. To back up the running game, the Giants have Eli Manning, who doesn't have great stats at this point of the season, but that is mainly because the running game has been so effective. Manning has a great young tight end in Kevin Boss and several fine receivers, including Plaxico Burress. To top it off, they have an outstanding Head Coach in Tom Coughlin, along with very good coordinators. In the AFC, it may be a bit of a stretch, but I am going with the Baltimore Ravens. They employ the same recipe for success as the Giants - a strong running game and a strong defense. They have a rookie quarterback, Joe Flacco, who is getting better every week, and who has had a quarterback rating of over 100 three out of the last four weeks. They are also third in the NFL in rushing, behind the efforts of Willis McGahee and Ray Rice. They are coached by rookie Head Coach John Harbaugh, and he has the team improving each week. I know the more popular choice in the AFC would have been the Titans, but there is just something about that team that makes think they are going to falter when they reach the playoffs. Pittsburg is also a popular choice, but I think that Roethlisberger is hurt, and I it will affect the team negatively as the season wears on. The Patriots are still a factor, even without Brady, but I believe they will crash and burn at some point, either prior to the playoffs or during. So there you have it, I am "out there" with my prediction. We will see how it plays out in February.

We agree on one thing--predictions are tough! *L* Early on, I thought Dallas would take it but, they've tanked and can't recover. I agree with New York but the Eagles may trip them up in the play offs. Ravens?? It changes every couple of week so, like you said, we'll see in February!
