Talkin' Football 5/18

I am dropping a little preview of what is to come. Soon Sport Great will become a podcast on YouTube. Our first issue is coming up in the near future, so be geared and ready. I did a 34 second preview warning on the Tube yesterday. So far I will be the only one doing this. O.J. Lewis is having internet problems right now. Alex Johnson will be interviewed on the show as one of our guests in the short term. Let's talk NFL.
The Baltimore Ravens signed CB Travis Fisher and rookie Safety Brad Jones to add bodies into their defensive back system. Andre Johnson is the second best wide receiver in the league according to me. He wants a new deal, but he already is making 60 million over eight years. That is big stuff. He is already locked up and paid, why ask for more? Johnson never struck me as a guy that was on the greedy side.
Cory Proctor was released by the Dallas Cowboys. The backup left guard was released because he was lazy. You should work hard if your a backup. You're already on a short leash.
The Kansas City Chiefs received rookie tight end Leroy Banks off of waivers from the Atlanta Falcons. DL Jeffery Fitzgerald and DB Andre Jones were two rookie free agents also signed by the Chiefs.
Linebacker Clint Ingram could move to the New Orleans Saints. Ingram was drafted in the third round in 2006 and has played in Jacksonville ever since. Ingram would try to replace star Scott Fujita. Ingram's value in this league is a C-.
Linebacker Matt Roth really wants to leave the Cleveland Browns. Roth is still under contract so he cannot be released.. They also cannot trade him, because GM Tom Heckert said they will not trade him at all. Roth is a D value wise.
Which rookie will have the most impact on the Lions?
You can either pick DT Ndamukong Suh or RB Jahvid Best. I would take Best because he is a dynamic running back. DTs are important, but running back is the impact position. Rookie running backs- like Shonn Greene last year in the playoffs- can burst out onto the stage. I would take Best in this one, but Suh is just one step behind him. Best's value next year will be a B and Suh's is a B so Suh is still better overall.
