The Ultimate NBA Guide

For those of you reading the comments, O.J. and I have been having a friendly argument on my NBA top 25 list-http://www.sportgreat.co m/the-list-basketball-player- ranks/. It was controversial, and it always is. This post will describe a few important things you must realize about the NBA.
1. You need to know what a "Stat Monster" is. These are players that reside on bad teams and have skewed stats. They simply overtake the game statistically because everybody else sucks. The best example of this is Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans. He is a good player, but his stats should not rival LeBron's as a rookie. Simply put, nobody else on the team can pass; rebound; or score. Beno Udrih, seriously?
2. In the NBA Draft, the picks from #20 and later are not for finding the next superstar. The great teams- year in and year out- draft role players to make their team better. They know what they're getting out of a useful guy that can play 10 minutes a night and do a decent job. Wild Card guys are guaranteed to suck. Once in every five years do you find a superstar in the later rounds. This is not the MLB where you sneak in Keith Hernandez.
3. Athleticism doesn't mean a thing in the NBA. Think about it, every NBA player has some sort of talent. Hasheem Thabeet is a prime example. This is a guy with raw talent that is off the charts. However, he is dumb and he lacks so many fundamental stuff to his game.
4. Highlight reel players are only good for Sportscenter. Josh Smith is probably the most overrated player in the game. You may point at his high FG percentage, but this guy can't shoot. He only shot one three, and he shoots 61 percent from the line. Smith has the boards because the Hawks play without a center. Al Horford is a power forward. Look at how he got obliterated by Dwight Howard.
Now Howard is great, but Davis and Perkins did a good job containing him. He gets blocks because he stands around. Josh Smith has no idea what fundamentals and on-the-ball defense are. He just goes out there and acts like it's streetball.
5.Hey, Melo scored 25 again! Guys, look at the shooting charts before you make comments. Most of the time, these guys that score 25 take 20 shots to do it. That makes it stupid that they would not hit 25. They will usually miss all but one of their shots that are 15 feet or further. Look, study up on what is going on. On a last note, 25 isn't much because Melo averages 28.2 per game.
The rest will be continued tomorrow or some other day. For now, enjoy and criticize me.
