Muhsin Muhammad retired. Is he a Hall of Famer?
It depends on what the voters say, but I think so. His career was similar to Hall of Famer Charley Taylor, HOF Superlegend John Stallworth, Keyshawn Johnson, Eric Moulds, and Drew Pearson.
Muhammad exhibited incredible character when he played the game. He was a leader on and off the field, and the best player in Carolina Panthers' franchise history.
Moose is known as one of the top 325 players in NFL history. He made the Pro Bowl in 1999 and 2004, while being the game's top receiver in 2004. He also was a 1st team All-Pro in 2004. Next up are some stats. (* denotes league leader)
1999: 96 catches, 1,253 yards, and 8 touchdowns.
2000: 102 rec*, 1,183 yards
2004: 93 rec, 1,405 yards*, 16 TDs*
He is 16th of all time in receptions and 20th in yards. Muhsin Muhammad was stalwart in the 2004 Super Bowl with Carolina, and the 2007 Super Bowl with Chicago. He has the longest reception in Super Bowl history from 2004. It was an 85 yard play thrown by Jake Delhomme that ended up a touchdown. However, Moose never won a Super Bowl.
In all, I would vote Muhsin into the Hall of Fame. He exhibited the character and skills in the game.
