Sport Greats NFL Upset of the Week-Cardinals over the Giants.
November 23rd 2008 06:22
Sport Great is picking the Arizona Cardinals over the New York Giants in the upset of the week. The Giants are the Super Bowl Champs and they are the class of the NFL. They are fourth overall in offense and second in defense. They have a phenomenal running game that is powered by three running backs whose aliases are Earth, Wind, and Fire. Their given names are Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, and Ahmad Bradshaw. Brandon is the leader of this pack with 879 yards and a amazing 5.4 yards per carry, but combined the three have carried the Giants to a league best 172.7 yards per game, bettering the team in second place by almost 20 yards per game. If that was not enough, they have Eli Manning at quarterback. Eli is not having an outstanding statistical year with 15 TDs and 7 INTs, but he has been more than adequate when he is called upon. The Cardinals are ranked number two in Offense and number 11 in defense. Their forte is the passing game. Kurt Warner is ranked 2nd in passing yardage and has the league's highest passer rating at 105.5. Their top two receivers are Larry Fitzgerald with 67 receptions for 939 yards and six touchdowns and Anquan Boldin who has 63 receptions for 803 yards and 10 touchdows. Anquan has these numbers despite missing two games, and his 10 TDs receiving is number one in the league. Both teams are well ahead in their respective divisions. The Giants are ahead by three games and the Cardinals are ahead by four games, so the game is not a must win for either team. I believe the Cardinals will win this game off of the strength of their crowd. The Cardinals are not used to being in this situation, and I believe that their fans will inspire them to victory. Cardinals 28 Giants 17.
